What’s New with Magic Sorter in 2024?

whats newIt’s been a while since our last update—so, what’s been happening with Magic Sorter?

Long story short: a ton of exciting progress!

Catching Up

Let’s address the elephant in the room: our blog has been a bit repetitive lately, mainly focusing on announcing new card sets. But behind the scenes, a lot has been happening at Magic Sorter HQ!

Over the past year, we’ve been hard at work scaling up to meet the growing demand for our product. Here’s a glimpse into what’s been going on:

  • Team Growth: We’ve expanded our team, bringing on new talent to ensure we can handle the increasing volume of orders.
  • Automation Upgrades: We’ve built new tools and streamlined workflows to make everything as automatic and efficient as possible.
  • Infrastructure Boost: We’ve outgrown our single server and moved to a robust cluster of servers. This ensures Magic Sorter can handle traffic spikes without breaking a sweat.

These foundational upgrades mean more reliability and speed for you, our customers, and pave the way for even more incredible features.

New Games, New Features

We’ve expanded Magic Sorter’s recognition capabilities like never before.

Here’s the latest lineup:

  • Supported Games: Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, Flesh and Blood, Lorcana, Digimon, One Piece, Star Wars: Unlimited, and Sorcery.
  • Language Recognition: Magic Sorter can now identify Magic: The Gathering cards in multiple languages.
  • Buylist Sorting: You can now sort or pull out cards directly based on your buylist.

Exclusive MTG Feature: Popular Card Sorting

For Magic: The Gathering players, we’ve introduced a game-changing feature: sorting by popular cards.

  • We monitor the results of the most significant tournaments across all formats over the past 30 days.
  • From there, we create a dynamic list of high-demand utility cards.
  • This feature allows you to quickly identify and pull out valuable cards from any collection you’re organizing.

Smarter Frame Detection for MTG Cards

We’ve also tackled a tricky issue with MTG cards. Previous sets featured a mix of old and new card layouts, which caused some confusion during sorting (looking at you, Wizards of the Coast!).

Now, Magic Sorter can:

  • Accurately detect whether a card truly has the old frame or is a reprint with a different layout.
  • Handle alternative prints like borderless or extended art cards with ease.

This upgrade means more precise recognition and less manual sorting for you.

Calling All Developers: API Access Is Here!

We have exciting news for developers: Magic Sorter’s recognition system is now accessible externally via our API!

  • Build your own sorting robots.
  • Integrate our powerful card recognition technology into your systems.

This new feature is perfect for anyone looking to take their automation to the next level.

Coming Soon: Sports Card Recognition

Magic Sorter is expanding beyond trading cards!

We’re currently developing a recognition system for sports cards, starting with baseball cards.

  • Beta testing is underway, and we’re refining the system for a smooth launch.
  • Once deployed, Magic Sorter will be your go-to solution for organizing not just trading cards but also sports collectibles.

The sky truly is the limit!

Looking Ahead: Hardware Upgrades

We’re not stopping at software—a major hardware update is on the horizon!

In the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling out a new version of Magic Sorter, featuring:

  • Dedicated Electronics: Custom-built for optimal performance.
  • Advanced Gripping Technology: A brand-new gripping method to improve reliability and reduce maintenance time.

These updates will make Magic Sorter faster, more durable, and easier to use than ever before.

Stay Tuned!

We’re incredibly excited about what’s to come for Magic Sorter in 2024. Whether you’re a longtime customer or just discovering us, this is the perfect time to explore all the ways Magic Sorter can streamline your card sorting experience.

As always, thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to a year of innovation and success!
